Clearance Level: Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance to be considered due to the nature of the work


Location: Although this position is hybrid – you must live within 100 miles of Lexington, MA to be considered

About the Role:


Aquila Technology is seeking a Electrical Engineer to join its team in support of one of the nation’s premier defense research organizations. The Electrical Engineer will designs, develops, and tests electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors and navigation systems, and electrical systems for automobiles and aircraft. They will oversees the manufacturing of these devices, systems, and equipment. As well as designs new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products. The Electrical Engineer will performs detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.


What You Will Bring:


Must Have 13 years of experience with the following:


  • Degree Level: Bachelor’s Degree

  • Clearance Level: Currently holds a Top Secret Clearance

  • Electrical/Electronics

  • Circuit Architectures and Algorithms

  • Device Layout

  • Electrical/Electronics – Analog

  • Electrical/Electronics – Digital

  • Electrical/Electronics – Power

  • Electronic Test Equipment

  • New Circuit Characterization and Qualification

  • New Circuit Debug

  • Reconfigurable Circuits

  • Test Equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers; power supplies, data acquisition)

  • Software

  • Spice

  • Circuit board design using tools (Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Dx Designer, etc.)

Responsibilities:


  • Design, development, and technical support of programs utilizing experience in electronic systems hardware development, with emphasis on power control/conversion.

  • Participate in defining, describing and implementing program deliverables/functionalities.



Required Skills:


  • All aspects of implementing circuitry, including design and schematic entry using Mentor Graphics tools, board layout, parts selection, debugging, and documentation.

  • Optoelectronic circuitry such as low-noise quadrant detector transimpedance amplifiers and laser diode pulse power drive circuitry (30 W or greater)

  • Power conversion and distribution technology for 28 VDC avionics for aerospace applications

  • Piezoelectric actuator drive circuitry

  • SPICE modelling

  • Familiarity with all types of laboratory instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, spectrum analyzers, and frequency counters.

  • The ability to work closely with a small group to define circuit requirements based on high-level systems requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment.



Preferred Skills:


  • Familiarity with embedded systems development, including C and/or assembly language programming for hard real-time single-board computer applications.

  • Familiarity with circuit simulation using a tool such as PSpice

Team members must achieve a grade of “B” or better to qualify for reimbursement.Aquila will reimburse up to $5,000 per fiscal year for tuition expenses only. Expenses related to training programs, certifications, books, materials, meals, transportation, or other non-tuition costs are not eligible under the Tuition Reimbursement Program. All tuition reimbursement requests must be submitted to and approved by the team member’s Manager prior to course registration. Reimbursement will be issued upon successful course completion and submission of final grades and proof of payment.


401K with Principal – Eligible to participate day 1 of employment. Company match on employee contributions:


• Eligibility on date of hire
• Employer Match- 100% of first 3% and 50% of next 2%
• Vesting- 100%
• Contribution limit- $24,500
• Catch-up contribution limit- $8,000
• Catch-up contribution limit for ages 60-63 in calendar year- $11,250
• Catchup contributions must be directed to Roth bucket if earned over
$150k in 2025



    Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) – Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.


    Clearance Level: Candidate must have an active Top Secret Clearance for this role.
    Work Location: Position is a hybrid role with onsite work for classified project needs and hardware testing.
    Interview process would be 2 steps.
