About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Test Engineer in support of the Defense Health Agency Solution Delivery Division (SDD). This position will provide advanced testing and engineering support for DHA systems, ensuring operational effectiveness, maintainability, interoperability, security and alignment with mission and business requirements through the system lifecycle. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise systems engineering, rigorous software/hardware testing, and strict federal healthcare compliance
This role will support the modernization and optimization of DHA's suite of Application Lifecycle Management Tools (ALMT) within secure military health and ensure all activities will adhere to Federal, DoD, and DHA guidance, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 System Life Cycle Processes.

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Test Engineer in support of the Defense Health Agency Solution Delivery Division (SDD). This position will provide advanced testing and engineering support for DHA systems, ensuring operational effectiveness, maintainability, interoperability, security and alignment with mission and business requirements through the system lifecycle. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise systems engineering, rigorous software/hardware testing, and strict federal healthcare compliance
This role will support the modernization and optimization of DHA's suite of Application Lifecycle Management Tools (ALMT) within secure military health and ensure all activities will adhere to Federal, DoD, and DHA guidance, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 System Life Cycle Processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Testing & Evaluation: Conduct rigorous product testing and evaluation using established standards to ensure all system requirements are met. This includes functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for both hardware and software systems.
- System Integration Testing: Conduct functional, interoperability, regression, performance, and end-to-end system testing.
- Test Script & Test Plan Development: Design, develop and implement comprehensive test evaluation processes, procedures, documentation, and verification procedures derived from complex system requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and update test plans, test scripts and test cases for IT systems, including hardware and software components. Create, implement, and report on system test plans, after-action reports, and test cases to document testing activities and outcomes.
- Test Case Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test cases and provide progress reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the testing lifecycle. Identify, document, and track system anomalies using tools like Jira. Coordinate and support defect triage meetings based on test results, and conduct root-cause analysis for technical infrastructure or software integration issues.
- Documentation & Reporting: Produce detailed test reports, operational readiness assessments, and technical briefings for leadership and government stakeholders.
- Participation in IT Systems Development: Engage in all phases of IT systems development, with emphasis on requirements analysis, test design, and tool selection. This ensures testing is integrated from the earliest stages of system development.
- Requirements Analysis: Participate in requirements analysis, test design, and tool selection, ensuring testing is aligned with mission and business needs.
- Application of Engineering Principles: Apply fundamental engineering concepts, processes, practices, and procedures to all technical tasks, ensuring testing activities are methodical, compliant, and aligned with industry standards.
- Cybersecurity Verification: Coordinate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure all tested systems comply with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards and hold auditable evidence of security measures. Apply fundamental engineering concepts, processes, practices, and procedures to all technical tasks.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with senior technical professionals, user staff, and stakeholders to complete projects successfully and ensure tested systems meet operational and business requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 5 years with BS/BA; 9 years with a high school diploma.
- Proven experience in technical documentation, system architecture, and engineering analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Department of Defense security clearance (ADP II Public Trust) or the ability to obtain one.
- Exceptional collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with test and evaluation processes for IT systems.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Preferred testing experience in DoD or Federal environments.
- Preferred knowledge of ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, DoD and DHA guidance, and lifecycle management.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and advancements.
- Preferred experience with AI-driven automation optimizing software delivery and code quality.
