Project Engineer / Analyst - Digital Enterprise IT - DoD
Job Location: Arnold AFB, TN 47 Wattendorf Memorial Hwy. Tullahoma, TN 37388 (On Site Arnold AFB)
Clearance – Current and active DoD Secret clearance required.
Relocation – Candidates willing to relocate within a reasonable time from offer will be considered
Compensation: 115 – 120K
Our client is seeking a Digital Enterprise Project Engineer with a software development background to support the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC). This role combines hands-on software development and technical problem solving with engineering project planning and coordination. The selected candidate will develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and support software solutions that improve ground test data infrastructure, facility operations, and business systems.
You will work with multidisciplinary teams to translate requirements into working solutions and support containerized applications using Kubernetes. OpenShift experience and experience administering software development tools or application environments are preferred.
Job Duties
• Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot software applications, integrations, and automation scripts supporting Digital Enterprise projects.
• Translate customer needs into technical requirements, implementation plans, and software solutions with engineers, developers, and project managers.
• Support application containerization, deployment, and troubleshooting in Kubernetes environments; use OpenShift where applicable.
• Investigate application and integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables, technical planning, implementation, integration, and checkout activities across project teams.
• Help develop technical scope, work breakdown structures, estimates, resource plans, and schedules; identify dependencies and communicate risks and constraints.
• Track technical progress against project plans and support project managers with progress reports, project charging, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain requirements, design documentation, deployment instructions, and support procedures; serve as a technical liaison with contractor and government staff.
• Support process improvements and, as needed, administration of software development tools and application environments.
• Wear company-issued personal protective equipment in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy, and perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 4+ years of progressive, relevant experience.
• Software development background with demonstrated ability to write, test, debug, and maintain code.
• Working knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes, including application deployment and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting engineering or software projects, including requirements development, system design, implementation, or technical coordination.
• Ability to work directly on technical tasks, solve problems independently, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical documentation and progress reports.
• Current United States citizenship and an active Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience administering software development tools, application environments, or container platforms.
• Experience with version control, automated builds and testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools.
• Experience with multiple programming languages, scripting, APIs, databases, or software integration.
• Experience with data infrastructure, data analytics, or automation supporting engineering and operational systems.
• Experience supporting ground test facilities, industrial operations, or government engineering programs.
• Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
