## Systems Administrator
**Location:** Remote
**Clearance:** Active Secret Clearance Required
**Travel:** 25%–50%
### Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented **Systems Administrator** to manage, maintain, and optimize IT systems and infrastructure. This position is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of servers, networks, and applications while providing technical support to end users.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, network management, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
### Key Responsibilities
**Systems Administration & Maintenance**
- Install, configure, maintain, and support servers, operating systems, and applications.
- Monitor system performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to improve system reliability and efficiency.
**Network & Infrastructure Management**
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs.
- Ensure secure and reliable connectivity for remote and on-site users.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
**User Support & Access Management**
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, system, and network issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Maintain access in accordance with organizational security policies.
**Backup & Disaster Recovery**
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
**Security & Compliance**
- Apply security patches and updates to servers, applications, and devices.
- Monitor and respond to potential security incidents.
- Ensure systems align with organizational policies and applicable industry standards.
**Automation & Optimization**
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine administrative tasks.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes, and workflows.
**Documentation & Reporting**
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Generate reports related to system health, usage, performance, and security.
### Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- **6–10 years of relevant systems administration experience.**
- Experience administering operating systems such as **Windows Server, Linux, and/or macOS**.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as **VMware or Hyper-V**.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including **DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP**.
- Experience with **Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain administration**.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- **Active Secret clearance required.**
- Ability to travel approximately **25%–50%**.
### Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as **CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)**.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as **AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**.
- Experience with scripting languages such as **PowerShell, Python, or Bash**.
- Familiarity with **ITIL practices**, including incident and change management.
