AI SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Innovien Solutions is currently hiring an AI Software Engineer to build and own the services, APIs, and automation workflows powering a new and growing AI-enabled application from the ground up. You'll be working on mission-critical platforms that leverage agent-based architectures, automation, and AI-driven capabilities to enable interactions with systems like network operations and enterprise processes.
You'll work within a team of product owners, software engineers, systems engineers, and security professionals collaborating to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant AI-enabled solutions — while serving as a technical resource for the broader engineering team. U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required.
AI SOFTWARE ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:
7+ years of experience as a Software Developer with a primary focus on backend services, APIs, or microservices — including experience building end-to-end applications from scratch with strong testing and integration best practices
5+ years of experience developing applications with Python in an Azure Cloud environment — including Azure PostgreSQL
Experience building or integrating LLM-driven capabilities — including working across multiple LLM providers and endpoints such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Ask Sage — and building AI agents
Hands-on experience querying and integrating graph databases into applications — Cosmos DB, Neo4j, or Amazon Neptune
Active CompTIA Security+ certification and Secret clearance or higher required
Bachelor's degree required
PLUS SKILLS:
Senior-level experience mentoring or providing technical direction to other engineers
Front-end development experience using React or TypeScript
Experience with AI-assisted development tooling — such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar
Experience with GitHub or GitLab-based development workflows
AI SOFTWARE ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, build, and maintain full stack features for an AI-enabled knowledge graph application in Azure — spanning front-end and back-end services using React, TypeScript, and Python
Build and integrate AI agents and LLM-driven capabilities into the application — including workflows for automation and system interaction
Develop and maintain integrations with knowledge graph data stores — Cosmos DB and Neo4j — and implement APIs and orchestration logic connecting agents and services
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage Azure cloud environments
Collaborate with systems engineers and ISSEs to translate requirements and security controls into code — contributing to architecture decisions as the platform evolves
Participate in GitHub and GitLab-based development workflows — including pull requests, code review, and CI/CD pipeline support aligned with ATO requirements
Contribute to an everything-as-code approach — expressing infrastructure, automation, and workflows as version-controlled, testable code
