The Work
The candidate will be a key contributor on the transformation to a model-based system engineering (MBSE) approach in support of the U.S Navy's strategic navigation submarine programs. Tasks include Development and Analysis of system requirements, development of functional and performance models, sharing/collaboration of models across industry partners to identify issues early and use of models during verification to minimize 'at sea' testing events. Support of design reviews as the program transitions from document-centric to model-centric reviews. Key contributor to the maturation of a "digital twin" capability to support playback, HW/SW integration and performance analysis.
The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation if a clearance is not currently possessed. Some travel may be a required.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (software engineering, computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Candidate must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously, make effective and timely decisions, solve challenging technical problems, and facilitate process changes to streamline activities.
- Experience with planning, organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating activities to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively with little supervision.
- Ability to interface with navigation subject matter experts (SMEs) to incorporate various functions of the INS, GPS and SONAR subsystems into the 'digital twin' capability.
- Experience with all aspects of Model-Based Systems Engineering including behavioral analysis, system modeling, requirement traceability, performance analysis, simulation and test automation.
- Experience generating system level, software and interface requirements using a Model-based System Engineering Method. Ability to integrate multiple system components to form a system of systems solution.
- Experience with DOORS or other similar requirements management tool
- Experience in model-based engineering using SysML or UML.

- Experience with inertial navigators
- Experience with MATLAB for post-test analysis

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
