UPM11 Technical Manufacturing Shift Lead - Additive
Shift: Second
General Scope of Responsibility:
Responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day manufacturing and warehouse operations. Ensures safe operations, efficient production, quality compliance, on-time customer fulfillment, and positive employee engagement while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities:
Leadership:
- Lead and supervise 5–10 employees across manufacturing and warehouse functions.
- Assign daily work, set priorities, and ensure production and shipment schedules are met.
- Coach, train, cross-train, and monitor employee performance; participate in reviews and development plans.
- Coordinate closely with Production Coordinator, Planner, and Operations Lead to address issues and escalate as needed.
Safety, HS&E, and Compliance:
- Enforce company safety policies and promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure PPE usage, safety training participation, near-miss reporting, and monthly safety inspections.
- Maintain OSHA and EPA compliance across assigned operations.
Productivity & Continuous Improvement:
- Support and sustain 5S, Lean, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and equipment utilization issues.
- Ensure preventive maintenance (PMs) are scheduled and completed.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the shift.
Manufacturing & Machining Support:
- Set up, program, and operate equipment including EDM, milling centers, and Blanchard grinders (as needed).
- Read blueprints and follow work instructions.
- Use measurement equipment such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Support Engineering with process improvements, fixture concepts, and program changes.
- Provide backup support for Additive Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering activities.
- Ensure all PMs are scheduled and completed on time
- Coordinate consumable supplies.
Inventory & Shipping:
- Maintain inventory accuracy and scrap control.
- Ensure shipments are packaged correctly, processed on time, and meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate material handling using forklifts and pallet jacks.
Quality:
- Participate in NPI and FAI process.
- Ensure all products have the proper paperwork attached.
- Fully support and enforce compliance with all ISO requirements.
- Ensure all products/shipment are packaged appropriately for damage free delivery and to customer specifications.
- Conform to the company Quality Policy, Ethics Guidelines, Safety and Environmental Policies and Policies and Procedures in which we run the business.
- Responsible for 100% compliance of internal and customer quality requirements at all levels of warehouse operations including but not limited to specification compliance, dimensional compliance, heat code traceability, export compliance, packaging etc.

Experience/Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse or manufacturing experience
- Preferred: prior lead or supervisory experience
- Leadership training (or willingness to complete)
- Leadership (LEAP/Accountability) Training or a path identified to complete training.
