PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 2 to support the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and office facilities in Buffalo, NY. This position requires a strong electrical background along with the versatility to perform work across multiple maintenance disciplines, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment repair.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility systems and equipment while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 2 to support the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and office facilities in Buffalo, NY. This position requires a strong electrical background along with the versatility to perform work across multiple maintenance disciplines, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment repair.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility systems and equipment while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on building infrastructure, machinery, and manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct routine, periodic, and special inspections to identify maintenance needs and prevent equipment failures.
- Troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and facility equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, layouts, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Install, modify, and repair branch circuit electrical distribution systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Perform general maintenance duties including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment repair.
- Remove snow and ice from walkways and apply appropriate treatments as needed.
- Support facility moves and modifications, including office furniture assembly and reconfiguration when required.
- Work occasional non-standard hours to complete critical maintenance tasks.
- Minimum of 2 years of electrical maintenance experience.
- Ability to perform a variety of carpentry and plumbing tasks.
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolds, and powered lift platforms.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Clean, valid New York State driver's license.
- Ability to travel between Amherst-area building locations as business needs require.
- Ability to work in varying environmental, physical, and atmospheric conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Experience with industrial three-phase electrical systems.
- Experience installing and maintaining:
- Rigid EMT conduit
- Flexible BX/MC conduit
- Three-phase branch circuits
- Ability to assemble and disassemble modular office furniture, including partitions and wall systems.
- Experience operating shop machinery and machine tools.
- Multi-trade maintenance experience across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and facilities maintenance disciplines.
- Work at heights using ladders, scaffolds, and powered lift equipment.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Perform work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
