Pharmaceutical Market Access Analyst
Location: Alameda, CA
Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with some flexibility regarding start and end times
Assignment Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $104/hour
Position Summary
The analyst will support managed care invoicing, purchase requisition tracking, data reconciliation, vendor communication, and other operational activities that help ensure the efficient execution of market access programs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with large volumes of financial and operational data, and proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel.
Candidates with direct pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or Market Access Operations experience are strongly preferred.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Support managed care invoice submission, validation, reconciliation, and payment processing.
- Track purchase requisitions, including open balances and remaining values.
- Reconcile financial and operational data related to Market Access programs.
- Investigate and resolve invoice, payment, and vendor-related discrepancies.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding invoicing and payment issues.
- Use Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and report financial and operational information.
- Document processes, procedures, and recurring operational activities.
- Identify discrepancies or deviations from established processes and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Support process improvements that contribute to operational efficiency and productivity.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and other activities as assigned by Market Access leadership.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Relevant fields may include:
- Healthcare Administration
- Public Health
- Data Management
- Business
- Finance
- Accounting
- Economics
- Law
- A related discipline
- Three to 10 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Invoicing
- Procurement
- Accounting
- Contract administration
- Legal administration
- Operational support
- At least two years of direct experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
- Experience supporting invoicing, procurement, contract administration, Market Access Operations, or related operational functions.
- Hands-on experience processing, validating, and reconciling invoices.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with:
- PivotTables
- VLOOKUP and/or XLOOKUP
- Data reconciliation
- Data tracking and analysis
- Experience communicating with vendors and resolving invoice- or payment-related issues.
- Strong organizational, follow-up, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt professionally to changing business needs.
- Consistent record of producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Direct experience supporting Market Access Operations.
- Experience with Contract Benefit Management (CBM).
- Experience in managed care invoicing or pharmaceutical program operations.
- Experience developing or maintaining operational procedures and process documentation.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical contracting, payer operations, or healthcare reimbursement processes.
- This role operates in a fast-paced environment and requires careful attention to detail.
- The position involves working with confidential financial, vendor, and operational information.
- The analyst works on assignments that require recognizing deviations from accepted practices.
- Applies job knowledge, company policies, procedures, and analytical skills to complete a variety of operational tasks.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
