Basic Requirements for Occupational Therapist (Holistic Health and Fitness):
(1) Degree: A graduate (or higher level) degree that included an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.
(2) Certification: Applicants must have passed the national examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0631 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
(3) Specialized Experience: At least one full year of professional Occupational Therapy experience (equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service) which includes performing evaluations in adult populations, implementing therapeutic modalities aimed at performance optimization, and
serving as part of an interdisciplinary team providing OT and consultative services for H2F mental readiness program with possessing prior experience working within Special Operations Forces.

Additional information
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to maximize Soldier performance and improve unit readiness.
- Serve as part of an interdisciplinary team and provide direct OT and consultative services for the H2F mental readiness program.
- Address psychosocial, cognitive, physical, occupational, and environmental barriers and opportunities to prevent injury, mitigate injury risk, and facilitate rapid return to duty following injury.
- Evaluate and provide solutions addressing physical readiness factors that impact Soldier performance (e.g. pushing and pulling movements, shooting, gripping and carrying load).
- Liaises with the H2F team, leadership, and the installation's military treatment facility (MTF) Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Surgical and Rehabilitative Services, Behavioral Health, Radiology, and Orthopedic services.
- Gather H2F program data and creates unit readiness reports to identify effectiveness of H2F program against established metrics.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- Requires physical exertion that includes lifting of moderately heavy items to include treatment tables, exercise equipment, research data collection equipment, and military equipment used by Soldiers.
- Required to work overtime and/or other than normal duty hours for data collection, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- The incumbent must be or be able to demonstrate the possession of a graduate degree in occupational therapy and a current, unrestricted occupational therapist license.
- The incumbent must be or be able to earn clinical credentials at a local military treatment facility servicing the brigade of assignment.
- The work requires moderate risks or discomforts that include work in non-climate controlled conditions outdoors where Army training is conducted.
