KM / SharePoint / Power BI Specialist
Full Time | Various Locations | Secret Clearance Required
Location(s): Quantico, VA / Camp Lejeune, NC / Camp Pendleton, CA / Twentynine Palms, CA / Hawaii / Okinawa, Japan
SteelGate is seeking an experienced Knowledge Management (KM) / SharePoint / Power BI Specialist to provide knowledge management, SharePoint administration and development, data visualization, reporting, and information-management support for the U.S. Government.
The Specialist will design, develop, administer, and maintain SharePoint sites and knowledge-management solutions; develop Power BI dashboards and reports; manage digital content and access controls; and develop policies, procedures, training materials, and job aids that improve information sharing and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, configure, administer, and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, lists, libraries, and other collaboration solutions.
• Create and maintain SharePoint pages supporting organizational information sharing and knowledge-management requirements.
• Manage SharePoint content, site organization, navigation, permissions, and access controls.
• Design and implement user-friendly SharePoint interfaces and web content.
• Maintain the accuracy, currency, usability, and accessibility of information published through SharePoint.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations supporting operational, technical, and management reporting requirements.
• Gather and analyze reporting requirements and translate business and mission needs into effective dashboards and information products.
• Integrate and organize data from approved sources for use in Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Support knowledge capture, organization, sharing, retention, and reuse across the customer’s enterprise.
• Develop and maintain KM policies, procedures, processes, templates, and governance documentation.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user guides, job aids, and training materials for SharePoint, Power BI, and knowledge-management solutions.
• Provide SharePoint and KM training, demonstrations, and technical assistance to users.
• Assist organizations with identifying opportunities to improve information sharing and collaboration through SharePoint and other approved Microsoft 365 capabilities.
• Coordinate with Government stakeholders to identify knowledge-management requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Support content migration, restructuring, modernization, and cleanup activities.
• Maintain appropriate access permissions and coordinate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure knowledge-management solutions comply with applicable security requirements.
• Troubleshoot SharePoint, permissions, content, reporting, and Power BI issues.
• Coordinate complex technical issues with Systems, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Technical Support personnel.
• Maintain technical and functional documentation for implemented KM solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of knowledge-management processes and tools.
Minimum Experience:
• Must have 5–8+ years of knowledge management, SharePoint, business intelligence, data visualization, or related IT experience.
• Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Must satisfy applicable DoD 8140/DCWF requirements for Work Role 431 at the Advanced proficiency level.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Knowledge Management, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
• Certifications applicable to SharePoint, Power BI, Microsoft 365, or Power Platform.
• Demonstrated experience administering and developing Microsoft SharePoint solutions.
• Experience creating and maintaining SharePoint sites, pages, lists, document libraries, permissions, navigation, and content.
• Demonstrated experience developing Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into effective KM or reporting solutions.
• Experience managing SharePoint permissions and access controls.
• Experience developing policies, procedures, SOPs, user guides, and training materials.
• Experience delivering technical training and user assistance.
• Strong knowledge of information organization, content management, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing principles.
• Ability to analyze data and present information through understandable dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical Government stakeholders..
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced Power BI experience, including data modeling, Power Query, and DAX.
• Experience with Power Automate and workflow automation.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Apps.
• Experience administering SharePoint Online within a Microsoft 365 environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft 365 collaboration capabilities.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, taxonomy, records management, or information lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting executive dashboards, KPIs, operational metrics, and performance reporting.
• Previous USMC, Navy, or other DoD knowledge-management experience.
