Job Description
Platform Network Administrator with active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph needed for a Long Term Contract opportunity with SOC's direct client for an onsite role based McLean, VA .
**Due to federal requirements, candidates must hold an Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph to be considered for this role.**
As a Platform Network Administrator you will join a team of experienced network, platform, and software engineers responsible for building and operating next-generation data center networks that support Artificial Intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing workloads. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading technologies while developing expertise in large-scale, mission-critical networking environments.

As a Platform Network Administrator you will join a team of experienced network, platform, and software engineers responsible for building and operating next-generation data center networks that support Artificial Intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing workloads. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading technologies while developing expertise in large-scale, mission-critical networking environments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in documentation, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-performance data center networking infrastructure.
- Learn, support, and progressively develop expertise with advanced networking technologies, including BGP, ECMP, VXLAN, Spine-Leaf architectures, MCLAG, RoCEv2, and related technologies.
- Assist in identifying performance trends, capacity constraints, and emerging issues before they impact services or customers.
- Partner with experienced engineers to deploy, optimize, and scale network infrastructure supporting AI and other demanding workloads.
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues to resolution.
- Participate in network upgrades, implementations, testing, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Continuously expand technical expertise through hands-on experience, self-directed learning, mentorship, and training opportunities.
- Travel up to 20% as needed to support deployments, installations, maintenance activities, and operational support.
Job Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (Counter Intelligence Polygraph)
- Strong network troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where technology is continuously evolving.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to continuously learn and develop new technical skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, SNMP, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring, telemetry, observability, alerting, or performance management tools.
- Exposure to Linux systems or Linux-based Network Operating Systems (NOS).
