Senior Network Engineer with active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph needed for a Long Term Contract opportunity with SOC's direct client for an onsite role based McLean, VA .
**Due to federal requirements, candidates must hold an Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph to be considered for this role.**
As a Senior Network Engineer you will join a diverse team of software and platform engineers to design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure. You will collaborate with people inside and outside the organization to deliver the highest standards for building, deploying, and scaling networks.

As a Senior Network Engineer you will join a diverse team of software and platform engineers to design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure. You will collaborate with people inside and outside the organization to deliver the highest standards for building, deploying, and scaling networks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain cutting edge and complex Layer 2/3 data center architectures using BGP, ECMP, VxLAN, MCLAG, Spine/Leaf topologies, RoCEv2, and other related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective network solutions.
- Provide expert guidance and support to junior team members, assisting them in their professional growth and development.
- Stay updated on the latest networking trends and best practices; proactively seek out new learning opportunities to enhance technical expertise.
- Contribute to the documentation of network infrastructure designs and configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Travel up to 20% of the time, as required, to perform on-site installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites or data centers.
Job Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence polygraph
- Have current IAM Level II to satisfy DOD 8570 IAT requirements
- Proven experience in designing, configuring, and managing complex BGP, VxLAN and Layer 2/3 Data Center architectures.
- Expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex L2/L3 topologies.
- Experience with redundancy protocols such as MCLAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation Group) or LACP.
- Experience with Spine-Leaf data center fabrics, architecture design, and implementation.
- Ability and willingness to become skilled at troubleshooting, designing, and monitoring RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2) supporting ultra high-speed data transfers.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and international) as required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to stay updated on industry trends and technology advancements; willingness to continue learning new things.
- Linux-Based NOS (Network Operating System) experience preferred.
