Position: Google Cloud Architect
Location: Washington, DC
Clearance: Secret
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Architect to serve as a technical leader responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale Google Cloud solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in cloud architecture, DevSecOps, automation, and modern application platforms with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, engineering teams, and business leaders.
This role will drive the development of secure, scalable, highly available cloud and hybrid-cloud environments while providing technical leadership across cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, application integration, and platform engineering initiatives.
Required:
Must have an Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience serving in cloud architecture, technical consulting, platform engineering, or enterprise technology delivery roles.
Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, networking, security, and infrastructure design.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation solutions.
Proficiency with Python and/or Bash scripting.
Experience with core Google Cloud services, including:
Compute Engine
Cloud Storage
Cloud SQL
VPC Networking
Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
Cloud Run
BigQuery
Pub/Sub
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and lead technical initiatives.
Preferred:
Master's degree in a related technical field.
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer certification.
Experience with Anthos, hybrid-cloud, and multi-cloud environments.
Experience with containerization technologies and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of security frameworks, Zero Trust principles, IAM, and cloud governance best practices.
Experience with data and analytics services such as BigQuery and Dataflow.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement enterprise Google Cloud architectures that are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
Partner with stakeholders and engineering teams to evaluate technical requirements, recommend solutions, and develop cloud adoption strategies.
Architect and support cloud-native and hybrid-cloud solutions, including multi-cloud environments where applicable.
Lead cloud migration, application modernization, infrastructure deployment, networking, security, and integration efforts.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and related automation tools.
Build and support automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline application and infrastructure deployments.
Create and maintain automation scripts using Python and/or Bash to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Ensure solutions meet security, performance, reliability, scalability, and compliance requirements.
Troubleshoot complex cloud and infrastructure issues and coordinate resolution across technical teams.
Document architecture decisions, technical designs, implementation plans, risks, and recommendations.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on cloud architecture, DevSecOps practices, and automation strategies.
Present technical concepts and architectural recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate within Agile development environments utilizing methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
