Position Overview
We are recruiting a Software Engineer for a direct placement opportunity in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will design, develop, test, and integrate embedded software solutions that extend the capabilities of high-performing Remote Weapon Stations (RWS).
The Software Engineer will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of Systems Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Electronics Engineers to ensure software integrates seamlessly with the overall RWS system. The engineer will also serve as the software architect for numerous modeling and simulation projects, including embedded programming.
This position participates in both formal and informal teams and assumes a leadership role as needed.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Under the general direction of the Senior Software Engineer, provide general and product-specific programming and integration services as required.
Interface with hardware/software application development, installation, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with engineers on development and application projects across the product line.
Serve as the software architect for modeling and simulation projects, including embedded programming.
Participate in formal and informal teams and assume a leadership role as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5+ years of direct experience in computer/electrical engineering.
Deep understanding of low-level programming and hardware interactions.
Embedded software development experience.
Proficiency in C/C++.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the following areas is a plus:
Linux multimedia, such as GStreamer.
ARM processors.
Understanding electrical schematics for PCBs.
Rust, Java, and shell scripting languages.
Wireshark and debugging of network protocols.
