Kentro is hiring for a Developer Lead / Integration Developer to support the VA ESOM contract. This role will lead and coordinate ServiceNow development and integration activities, translate approved business and technical requirements into executable solutions, drive development work through design, build, testing, release.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled ServiceNow developer and technical lead with strong experience delivering enterprise ServiceNow solutions and integrations. This role requires the ability to provide technical direction to developers while remaining actively engaged in solution design, development, integration, troubleshooting, technical reviews. The candidate should be able to identify technical dependencies, risks , blockers early and work collaboratively across architecture, business analysis, testing, Product Owners, integration teams to support predictable delivery.

Reporting to the SAM Project Manager/Lead, working closely with ServiceNow architects and the broader SAM delivery team, this position plays a key role in maintaining technical continuity, strengthening development execution, advancing SAM capabilities within the VA ESOM environment. The Developer Lead / Integration Developer will support development planning and sequencing, technical decision-making, release readiness, documentation, knowledge transfer while helping ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, aligned with approved SAM requirements.

Location: Remote - This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.

Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $155-$175K annually. Kentro determines compensation by evaluating current government contracting and commercial market conditions, as well as the role's specific requirements. Final salary placement within this range will be based on the candidate's relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, location, and security clearance level, where applicable.

Responsibilities

ServiceNow Development & Technical Delivery
  • Lead and coordinate ServiceNow development activities supporting the VA ESOM Software Asset Management (SAM) workstream.
  • Design, develop, configure, maintain scalable ServiceNow solutions aligned with approved SAM business and technical requirements.
  • Translate approved requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria into technically executable solutions and development tasks.
  • Provide hands-on development support while guiding developers through solution design, implementation, troubleshooting, delivery.
  • Review technical approaches and code to promote solution quality, maintainability, performance, alignment with ServiceNow development standards.
  • Identify technical dependencies, risks, blockers, design considerations early and drive them to appropriate resolution or escalation.

ServiceNow Integration & Solution Engineering
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, support integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems and data sources supporting SAM capabilities.
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow architects and integration stakeholders to define appropriate integration patterns, data flows, interfaces, technical dependencies.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex development, integration, data-flow issues.
  • Apply best practices for security, reliability, performance, scalability, maintainability across ServiceNow solutions and integrations.
  • Maintain appropriate technical documentation for implemented solutions, integrations, configurations, design decisions.

Development Planning & Release Execution
  • Translate approved priorities into actionable development plans and support estimation, sequencing, execution of development work.
  • Coordinate technical activities across development, testing, defect resolution, release-readiness activities.
  • Work closely with Scrum/BA, testing, Product Owners, architects, the SAM Project Manager/Lead to identify dependencies and maintain visibility into development progress and blockers.
  • Support technical validation, defect resolution, regression activities, production-release readiness.
  • Ensure appropriate knowledge transfer and technical continuity across the development team.

Operational Collaboration
  • Partner with Product Owners, business analysts, software asset management stakeholders, architects, testers, integration teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective ServiceNow solutions.
  • Participate in requirements refinement, solution-design discussions, technical reviews, release-planning activities.
  • Clearly communicate technical constraints, dependencies, risks, solution options to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement of development practices, delivery processes, ServiceNow SAM capabilities.

Technical Leadership & Communication
  • Serve as a technical lead and mentor for ServiceNow developers supporting the SAM development workstream.
  • Provide technical direction and support to developers while remaining actively engaged in development and integration work.
  • Promote engineering quality, accountability, documentation, knowledge sharing, consistent development practices.
  • Provide clear, concise development-status updates, technical recommendations, risks, escalation needs to the SAM Project Manager/Lead and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Help maintain development continuity and ensure technical knowledge is effectively transferred across the team.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Eight years of relevant professional experience may substitute for a degree.

Experience
  • 8+ years of professional software development, systems engineering or enterprise application development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing, configuring, and supporting solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or providing technical direction to developers within an enterprise software development environment.
  • Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and supporting ServiceNow integrations with enterprise applications, platforms, APIs, data sources.
  • Experience translating business and technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow development lifecycle practices, including solution design, development, testing, defect resolution, deployment, production support.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, web services, integration patterns, scripting, data transformation, enterprise system interfaces.
  • Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development and working collaboratively with architects, Product Owners, business analysts, testers, project management, integration teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, communicate technical risks, dependencies, recommended solutions.
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments; federal government or VA experience is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing or supporting ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro), IT Asset Management (ITAM) or related ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Experience with software discovery, software models, entitlements, reconciliation, reclamation, software usage, software-title onboarding processes.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise discovery, endpoint-management, identity/access-management or other authoritative enterprise data sources.
  • ServiceNow development or implementation certifications, such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide developers while remaining hands-on with development and integration work.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively across cross-functional teams and drive technical work from requirements through production release.
