Senior Data Operator
Location: Framingham, MA

Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Senior Data Operator will assist with converting paper medical records into secure electronic files within the approved FHS document management system. Responsibilities include preparing, scanning, indexing, organizing, and quality-checking participant records to ensure accurate, complete, and secure digital archiving.
The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and committed to protecting confidential health information.

Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare paper medical records for scanning and digital conversion.
- Organize documents according to established procedures and document-management requirements.
- Scan paper records using designated scanning equipment and software.
- Index, label, and upload electronic records accurately within the approved document management system.
- Perform quality assurance reviews to verify the accuracy, completeness, readability, and proper organization of scanned documents.
- Identify and correct scanning, indexing, or data-entry errors.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive participant and health information.
- Follow all applicable Framingham Heart Study, Boston University, Health Information Management, and HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and report issues or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with document management, records organization, and archiving activities as needed.
- Collaborate with team members while also working independently to meet daily productivity and accuracy expectations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with data entry, document scanning, records management, medical records, or administrative support preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Ability to learn and consistently follow detailed processes and procedures.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and move records or file boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work 100% on-site in Framingham, Massachusetts.
- Previous experience working with electronic document management or imaging systems.
- Experience handling medical, legal, academic, or other confidential records.
- Familiarity with HIPAA or other privacy and data-security requirements.
- Experience performing quality assurance, document indexing, or high-volume data entry.
