Basic Requirement for Information Technology Specialist (Network):
Applicant must have one year of directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by applying security practices and requirements for information technology (IT) equipment and systems; evaluating network equipment in accordance with policies and standards; analyzing data communications equipment and networking systems to ensure maximum capability is achieved; and reviewing procedures to recommend changes to optimize utilization of IT equipment and systems.
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.

- Serves as Senior Technician and Technical Expert responsible for planning, managing and coordinating configuration management, Local Area Network projects and Wide Area Network projects in the Republic of Korea.
- Responsible for the on-going analysis of all data communications equipment and networking systems to ensure that maximum capability is being achieved at minimum cost.
- Works with functional managers to evaluate the impact of proposed standards and procedures on the accomplishment of activity goals and objectives.
- Provides technical expertise for network management support for Non-classified Internet Protocol Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network and classified Secret Internet Protocol Router Network networks.

- In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction 1400.25 Volume 1230.
- In accordance with DODM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level: See below.
- Cyber Work Role requirements: 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours Of Continuous professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).

- Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.
- Relocation incentive may be requested through management and may be authorized up to 25% base salary paid bi-weekly up to 4 years.
