Senior Software Simulation Engineer

Overview:
By Light is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Simulation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, simulation, and systems engineering. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining simulation software for complex systems, ensuring that our clients receive the highest quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop simulation software for complex systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, domain experts, and other team members to understand requirements and translate them into functional software.
• Implement and integrate simulation models into larger systems.
• Perform testing, debugging, and validation of simulation software.
• Optimize simulation performance and ensure scalability.
• Document software design, code, and test results.
• Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies in simulation and software development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in simulation or systems engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, or similar.
• Experience with simulation tools and frameworks (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica, etc.).
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with real-time simulation and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required.
