Everforth ECS is seeking a Scrum Master to work in our Fairfax, Virginia location working with U.S. Government Mission Partner Enclaves, each with a unique set of data, applications, and information systems/sub-systems that support the development of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms. Together our team conducts Agile software engineering in a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) environment, perform Cloud architectural design, operation, and administration functions, and cyber security and Risk Management Framework (RMF) support.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and driven Scrum Master with strong leadership and facilitation skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This individual will help mature the team's Agile processes, foster cross-functional collaboration, and enable successful program execution through effective communication, organization, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about enabling teams to work more effectively through Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for supporting centralized administration and coordination initiatives while championing Agile best practices across the team. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile development teams, ensuring Scrum principles, SAFe practices, and Agile methodologies are consistently understood, adopted, and followed.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Release Planning, and Program Increment (PI) Planning.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Agile Coaches, and stakeholders to define, refine, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint priorities.
  • Champion Agile best practices and coach teams to foster collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and a high-performing Agile culture.
  • Act as a servant leader by removing impediments, resolving conflicts, managing dependencies, and enabling teams to successfully deliver sprint and program objectives.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate requirements, translating business needs into actionable user stories and backlog items.
  • Manage Jira, Confluence, and other Agile tools to maintain sprint and product backlogs, track work, and provide transparency into team progress.
  • Develop, monitor, and communicate Agile metrics, dashboards, sprint velocity, burndown charts, release status, and other delivery metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate multiple application development efforts and cross-functional initiatives within a fast-paced DevSecOps environment.
  • Track and manage risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and blockers, proactively driving them to resolution.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Window activities, ticket management, change implementation, and post-maintenance reporting.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of new capabilities that enhance mission assurance and operational management functions.
  • Prepare executive briefings, status reports, presentations, and communications for program leadership and Government stakeholders.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings by preparing agendas, documenting decisions, capturing meeting minutes, tracking action items, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Assist project and program managers with planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, documentation, quality reviews, and overall project execution.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, knowledge management artifacts, and other program documentation.
  • Support daily operational activities for leadership and technical teams through cross-functional coordination and collaboration across matrixed organizations.
  • Build strong partnerships across engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, program management, and customer organizations to ensure priorities remain aligned and mission objectives are achieved.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000

Required Skills
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related STEM discipline.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Three or more years of experience as certified Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Release Train Engineer (RTE) for medium to large Agile software development efforts.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, familiar with SAFe 6.0
  • Working knowledge of Agile principles and Scrum framework with experience facilitating Agile ceremonies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills with the ability to influence teams and drive collaboration without direct supervisory authority.
  • Exceptional organizational and coordination skills with experience managing multiple meetings, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to:
    • Manage multiple projects of medium to large scale through all sprints/iterations and phases of the project.
    • Communicate, influence and partner effectively using strong verbal and written communication.
  • Highly proactive, adaptable, and flexible, with the ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities, emerging requirements, and dynamic customer needs.
  • Self-motivated and driven with a strong desire to continuously learn, take on new challenges, and grow professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across cross-functional teams and all levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and anticipate team needs while maintaining a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements.
  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintaining Agile backlogs.
  • Experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence to manage Agile projects and team workflows.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical teams, leadership, and government stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking while managing multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams without direct authority and foster collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
Desired Skills
  • Prior project administration / management experience
  • Hands-on experience and/or knowledge of Atlassian's Jira and Confluence
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • SAFe Certification 6.0
  • ITIL Practitioner Certification and ITIL Foundations Certification
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile Team Facilitator for infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, or enterprise IT programs.
  • Familiarity with SAFe or Agile practices within large-scale enterprise or government environments.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal IT programs.
  • Experience with Cyber Security Programs/Customers
  • Experience developing Agile metrics and reporting for leadership.
