Description

We are seeking a Systems Test and Integration Specialist with strong DoD C2 experience to lead software patch verification, regression testing, and system sustainment. Responsibilities include patch validation, troubleshooting, regression testing, documentation, system security validation, VM baseline maintenance, curriculum development, classroom/virtual instruction, over-the-shoulder training, and coordination with joint-service teams.

  • Planning, scheduling, and executing structured test procedures to validate software patches, hotfixes, and cumulative system updates prior to operational release across virtual machine baselines.
  • Performing thorough functional regression testing across core software components to ensure patch installations do not break system services, degrade performance, or disrupt inter-system communications.
  • Isolating, troubleshooting, and documenting system faults, service initialization failures, and configuration anomalies that arise post-patch.
  • Validating system security postures post-patching by confirming remediation effectiveness and baseline stability following the application of vendor and security patches, coordinating defect tracking in Jira or equivalent systems.
  • Maintaining virtual machine baseline integrity, verifying system health, service states, and event logs before and after patch application.
  • Authoring and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), test plans, regression checklists, and release validation reports.
  • Interfacing with cross-service teams (Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army) and external program offices to report patch impacts, operational anomalies, and test results.
  • Assisting in the development curriculum for current, follow-on and future C2 and targeting applications
  • Providing classroom or virtual (MS Teams) instruction to students ranging from beginners to Subject Matter Experts
  • Providing over-the-shoulder instruction to students on various naval platforms and in lab environments
  • Standing or walking for long periods and work on waterfront platforms during all seasons
  • Packaging, handling, storage, and transportation of training materials and equipment
  • Traveling up to 25% and comfortable in small spaces aboard Navy ships

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years administering, updating, and troubleshooting enterprise operating systems in virtual machine environments
  • Experience executing system patch deployments, verification testing, and regression analysis across multi-node or multi-server baselines
  • Hands-on scripting or CLI tool experience for automation and system health validation
  • Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, certificates, and network troubleshooting
  • Experience with SDLC processes and defect tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, GitLab)
  • 1-3 years onsite or classroom instruction, including virtual training and curriculum development
  • Security+ certification
  • Active passport

Desired Skills

  • Experience with DoD C2 systems including TBMCS and JADOCS
  • Experience with test methodologies, validation criteria, and operational acceptance
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi experience including snapshots and baseline management
  • Network diagnostic experience verifying communication paths and troubleshooting system issues
  • 5-8 years training or operator experience in operations centers
