Apex Systems is currently hiring for a DevSecOps Engineer with a leading defense and aerospace technology client. This opportunity supports a long-term, mission-critical space systems program focused on advancing secure, resilient, and innovative capabilities that enable national security objectives.
Project Details / Mission Supported:
Support the development, integration, and sustainment of next-generation space systems within a highly secure environment.
Contribute to a long-term modernization effort focused on implementing secure software development and deployment practices across mission-critical platforms.
Partner with cross-functional engineering, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions supporting national defense missions.
Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
5+ years of experience supporting DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical environments.
Hands-on experience with Git, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Helm.
Experience deploying and supporting cloud-based environments utilizing AWS and/or OpenStack.
5+ years of experience administering Linux-based operating systems and supporting enterprise infrastructure.
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and integrating security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
Experience with automation, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and configuration management tools.
Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, cybersecurity best practices, risk management, and secure software development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Terraform, ArgoCD, or other GitOps technologies.
Experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
Familiarity with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions.
Previous experience supporting HADES or similar defense-related programs.

Clearance Level: Top Secret
Salary/Pay Range: $70 - $100/hr
