Archivist - Top Secret clearance

- Salary Range - $85,000 to $90,000

Full-Time Archivist to support the FBI Experience. The FBI Experience is an education center that provides visitors with look into the FBI through interactive multimedia exhibits, content, and artifacts. Top Secret Clearance required
Job Summary:
The Archivist will be responsible for developing exhibits, managing, maintaining, and preserving collections, conducting historical research, cataloging various collections, assisting with visitor services, and working closely with the FBI Experience Collections Team. They will focus on collections management, digital archives, archival services, and historical research as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop exhibits and historical site content.
- Catalogue various collections, including objects, photographs, videos, and files.
- Conduct specialized historical research and preserve artifacts, manuscripts, and records.
- Manage, maintain, and preserve collections.
- Collaborate with the FBI Experience Collections Team.
- Assist in the disposal of objects under the team's direction.
- Identify, organize, and catalog objects to support collection management.
- Provide images and measurements of objects and complete cataloging projects.
- Generate selection criteria for the collection management system.
- Train staff in handling and cataloging collections.
- Provide tours and information to visitors.
- Assist in inventory management and asset tracking.
- Track and request archival supplies.
- Monitor and recommend use of collection storage spaces.
- Assist in artifact movement between storage spaces.
- Develop and implement a records management program.
- Collaborate with the FBI Historian as needed.
Qualifications:
- College Degree
- Three years of experience in cataloging, archival, or organizational management.
- Strong attention to detail and data management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and develop solutions.
- Experience in document finding and implementing new processes.
- Ability to handle objects of varying sizes and shapes.
- Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
- Strong research skills.
- Active Top-Secret clearance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Required to sit and utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Required to talk or hear.
- Environment typically has low noise levels.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
