Job Description
Technical Project Manager
Hoplite Solutions is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support mission-facing software development, systems integration, and technology delivery efforts. This role will focus on guiding technical projects from planning through execution, ensuring teams remain aligned on scope, schedule, requirements, risks, and deliverables.
This is a great opportunity for a former developer or technically hands-on professional who has moved into project management and enjoys leading software delivery, coordinating technical teams, and translating complex engineering work into clear plans and outcomes.
As a Technical Project Manager, you will work closely with software developers, engineers, product owners, and customer stakeholders to translate technical needs into actionable plans, track progress, remove blockers, and support successful delivery of mission-focused solutions. The ideal candidate will bring enough development background to understand software architecture, development workflows, technical dependencies, and engineering challenges while demonstrating strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Desired Skills:
• Technical project management
• Agile/Scrum delivery
• Software development lifecycle experience
• Prior hands-on development experience
• Requirements gathering and documentation
• Sprint planning and backlog management
• Risk, issue, and dependency tracking
• Stakeholder communication
• Cross-functional team coordination
• Jira, Confluence, or similar project tracking tools
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Previous experience as a software developer, software engineer, or technical lead
• Experience supporting development teams in cleared or mission-focused environments
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, cloud platforms, data systems, or enterprise software delivery
• Experience managing software modernization, integration, or platform development projects
• Strong understanding of technical requirements, testing cycles, release planning, and deployment coordination
• Experience working with government or federal customers
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience managing technical projects, software delivery efforts, or engineering teams
• Prior software development or hands-on technical experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required
