nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) is seeking a Cyber Open Source Intelligence Analyst and Cyber Operations Subject Matter Expert to turn publicly available information into timely, defensible insight for customer cyber missions. The analyst will research cyber threats and infrastructure, explain operational implications, and help teams plan, assess, and improve authorized cyber activities.
This role combines disciplined open source intelligence (OSINT) tradecraft with practical understanding of cyber operations. The successful candidate will work with technical and mission stakeholders to frame intelligence questions, assess source reliability, connect findings to the customer’s environment, and present concise recommendations. • Collect and analyze information from lawful public sources, including technical reporting, vulnerability disclosures, malware and adversary research, domains, infrastructure, code repositories, and relevant online communities.
• Corroborate findings across sources; document provenance, confidence, gaps, and alternative explanations; and distinguish observed facts from analytic judgments.
• Produce threat profiles, infrastructure assessments, indicators and context, executive summaries, briefings, and other intelligence products tailored to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Relate OSINT findings to cyber defense and authorized operational planning, including threat hunting, detection engineering, incident response, exposure management, and mission risk assessment.
• Advise on cyber operational concepts, workflows, tools, constraints, and measures of effectiveness in coordination with customer authorities and program leadership.
• Partner with intelligence, security engineering, network operations, and program teams to identify requirements, share findings, and support actionable decisions.
• Maintain collection records and analytic methods consistent with applicable law, customer direction, data handling rules, and operational security requirements.
• Improve repeatable research processes, source evaluation practices, knowledge management, and analyst training; mentor colleagues as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience conducting cyber-focused OSINT or cyber threat intelligence analysis and translating findings into operationally useful assessments.
• Working knowledge of cyber operations, network and endpoint concepts, adversary tactics and techniques, vulnerabilities, and incident response or threat hunting workflows.
• Ability to evaluate source credibility, corroborate technical findings, document analytic confidence, and communicate uncertainty clearly.
• Experience researching internet infrastructure and technical artifacts using appropriate OSINT methods and analytical tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief both technical specialists and mission leaders.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate across cyber, intelligence, engineering, and program teams.
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in intelligence, cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DOD or federal mission support
- Familiarity with structured analytics techniques and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
