Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team working in Crane, IN. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leads the development, update, and submission of the RMF packages inside government repositories (e.g., eMASS).
- Conducts security control assessments, draft Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and maintains system continuous monitoring strategies.
- Performs automated and manual vulnerability assessments using tools like ACAS (Nessus) and SCAP.
- Translates findings into action by applying Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and resolving compliance gaps.
- Serves as the primary bridge between the software development/systems engineering team and the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
- Participates in engineering change boards to ensure modifications do not compromise system posture.
- Assists in analyzing security logs, detecting anomalies, and providing system-level technical support during incident response or forensic investigations.
- Applies system security engineering principles to implement secure designs, secure configurations, and boundary defenses (firewalls, IDS/IPS, access controls).
- Ensures standard security tools (e.g., HBSS/ESS, ACAS, SIEM) are properly integrated
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of direct experience in cybersecurity engineering, systems engineering, or network administration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, System Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 6+ years of additional experience may substitute for the degree requirements
- Must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- Active DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAT Level III baseline certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+ CE, or CISA)
- Previous experience working in a DoD environment
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required and an active or current Secret clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret prior to starting.
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
