Field Technician and Imaging Technicians
Main Location (5-6) Lorton, VA,
Alt Locations: deployment hubs in Yuma, AZ; San Diego, CA; Miami, FL; Laredo, TX; El Paso, TX; McAllen, TX; and New York, NY
ReliaSource seeks Field Technicians and Imaging Technicians to support a large-scale federal laptop deployment. Technicians will image, provision, test, and deploy laptops while providing deskside support to users. Positions are available at our HQ Tech Depot in Lorton, Virginia, and at hub locations across the country. Willingness to travel is a plus and may provide opportunities for additional assignments.
Key Responsibilities
• Image, provision, configure, and test laptops according to approved procedures.
• Provide deskside support during device replacement and deployment, including basic troubleshooting and user assistance.
• Verify device configuration and functionality before delivery to users or shipment to deployment sites.
• Record asset information, work completed, deployment status, and technical issues accurately.
• Assist with device staging, inventory, packing, and shipping as assigned.
• Escalate imaging failures, configuration problems, and other blockers to the Imaging Lead or Field Lead.
• Meet daily production and deployment targets while maintaining quality and following customer site requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Experience providing deskside IT support for federal customers.
• Hands-on experience imaging and provisioning laptops.
• Ability to troubleshoot common Windows laptop, application, and peripheral issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented technical and inventory procedures.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to support users in an active workplace.
• Ability to work onsite for the expected assignment period at the assigned location.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for laptop imaging and deployment.
• Experience supporting large-scale device refresh or deployment projects.
• Experience with device staging, asset tracking, and shipping.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to hub locations for additional assignments.
Success in this role means devices are configured correctly, records are accurate, users receive effective support, and assigned deployment work is completed on schedule.
