Systems Analyst -MTPA

Summary

Requires technical knowledge and skills to perform computer, network, audio/video, integrated system
operations in both office and remote field location environments.
Facilitates the establishment and maintenance of network paths and RF communications supportive of digital and analog data collection.
Provides overall system administration responsibility for the instrumentation/data collection and operating systems.
Supports the maintenance and configuration management of data collection/instrumentation systems. Provides field level support as required to sustain system/network Authority To Operate (ATO).
Adjusts instrumentation network configurations as required to support data collection efforts and document equipment configurations to support Configuration Control Review Board (CCRB) process.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains and operates systems and network used for supporting operational testing.
Installs, supports, and maintains system servers and other computer systems. Plan, direct, or coordinate activities for electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.
Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems.
Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications.
Plans for and responds to configuration requirements to support testing and support problem resolution.
Has an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting.
Conduct maintenance of automated information technology (AIT) user accounts, system backups, and
audit files.
Support the configuration management, verification and validation (V&V) of all test support AIT and databases.
Provide support to the CCB as required. Provide input to test team accreditation plans.
Administers, tests, and implements computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems.
Coordinates changes to computer databases with programmers.
May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications.
Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service.
Has a strong grasp of computer security.
Supports the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Lead on RMF matters pertaining to instrumentation and network systems.
Maintains, operates and administers the Instrumentation Control Center (ICC) as required in support of operational testing.
Supports test instrumentation data collection, research and analysis, net-centric data analysis and support of automated data collection devices.
Has an in-depth knowledge of different operating systems and applications to include windows and LINUX as well as network hardware and software.
Deploys software patches and support measures to prevent intrusion and other security problems associated with SYSTEM HIGH operations.
Provides overall system administration responsibility for the ICC, the instrumentation, and operating systems.
Supports ongoing security risk assessments including monitoring, investigation and reporting of security risks.
Conducts feasibility studies and develops system, time, equipment and cost requirements.
Conducts systems research and troubleshooting.
