Job Description
New Era Technologies is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented PCB Design Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge printed circuit board (PCB) solutions that power a wide range of electronic systems. Your expertise will drive the design, development, and optimization of complex PCB layouts, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in a fast-paced environment where your technical skills and creativity will truly make a difference.
Duties
• Design and develop PCB layouts using advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, Altium Designer, or similar tools, ensuring adherence to electrical and mechanical specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, firmware developers, and manufacturing specialists to translate system requirements into effective PCB designs.
• Conduct thorough signal integrity analysis and root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues related to PCB performance and reliability.
• Integrate FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), SoC (System on Chip), and programmable logic controllers into system designs for optimized functionality.
• Perform electrical schematic design, simulation, and verification using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, SystemVerilog, or equivalent.
• Support manufacturing processes by preparing detailed fabrication and assembly documentation while ensuring compliance with electrical building codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards.
• Engage in engineering testing, debugging, and validation of prototypes using oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, firmware programming in C++, Python, Perl or similar scripting languages.
• Apply mechanical knowledge using Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within mechanical enclosures or assemblies.
• Lead project scheduling efforts to meet deadlines while managing multiple design tasks efficiently.
• Conduct system development verification and validation activities to guarantee product quality before mass production.
Experience
• Proven experience designing PCBs for industrial automation, communications systems, or electronics manufacturing environments.
• Strong background in electronics design including circuit design, electrical system design, schematic creation, and surface mount technology (SMT).
• Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks or equivalent for mechanical-electrical integration.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA programming and digital logic design using SystemVerilog or VHDL.
• Knowledge of electrical codes including NEC standards and NFPA 70 compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability in debugging complex electronic systems utilizing oscilloscopes, multimeters (Ohmmeters), and simulation tools like MATLAB or Simulink.
• Experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with exposure to automation systems and control systems engineering.
• Skills in scripting languages such as Python or Perl for automation tasks and system testing procedures.
• Mechanical understanding relevant to product enclosure design or integration using Revit or MicroStation is a plus.
• Familiarity with firmware development for embedded systems using C++, ARM microcontrollers or Arduino platforms is desirable.
