Principal Cloud & DevSecOps Architect

We are seeking a hands-on Principal Platform / DevSecOps Architect to design, build, operate, and continuously improve a secure AWS-based application platform. This is not a purely advisory architecture role. We are looking for an experienced engineer who can architect solutions, build them, troubleshoot complex problems across the stack, automate repetitive work, and help other engineers succeed.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, operate, and troubleshoot production Kubernetes environments, primarily Amazon EKS.
• Design and maintain sophisticated GitLab CI/CD pipelines and reusable pipeline templates.
• Implement GitOps practices for Kubernetes applications and infrastructure.
• Build and maintain secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop reusable Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, deployment patterns, and platform automation.
• Support containerized applications using Docker.
• Integrate security scanning, secrets management, IAM, and other DevSecOps controls into delivery pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning applications, containers, Kubernetes, AWS, networking, certificates, and identity.
• Support authentication and authorization, including IAM, RBAC, OAuth2/OIDC, LDAP, TLS/mTLS, and
certificate-based authentication.
• Improve logging, monitoring, auditing, and platform observability.
• Turn recurring problems and manual processes into automated, reusable solutions.
• Document solutions and mentor engineers across development, infrastructure, platform, and security teams.

Qualifications:

• Significant experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Strong hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS.
• Deep experience building and troubleshooting GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong AWS engineering experience, including networking, IAM, compute, storage, load balancing, and monitoring.
• Strong Docker/containerization experience.
• Experience with GitOps and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience creating reusable deployment, pipeline, and infrastructure templates.
• Strong Linux, networking, and command-line troubleshooting skills.
• Software development or scripting experience with languages such as Python, Go, Java, Ruby, or Bash.
• Understanding of IAM, RBAC, authentication/authorization, TLS, certificates, DNS, HTTP, routing, and load balancing.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex systems across multiple technology layers.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
