Principal Training Development Specialist

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting new opportunity for a Principal Training Developent Specialist supporting the Helicopter Program Office (HPO) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The HPO supports selected helicopter programs including the HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) and the MH-139. The HPO has a mission to rapidly deliver and field new and updated rotary wing aircraft.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Develop training curricula and/or recommend or utilize programs that meet instructional goals and objectives.
• Formulate training outlines and determine instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, and online or web-based courses.
• Select or develop training aids, including training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
• Design and create training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques to deliver group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and/or maintenance areas or provide guidance to the government on how to deliver group and individual instruction.
• Work with project team to design and develop Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) compliant e-learning.
• Develop storyboards and scripts for e-learning.
• Upload and configure e-learning content into learning management systems.
• Monitor and evaluate training programs and utilizes the data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Secret

Education and experience:

• Masters degree in a technical or mechanical field and 20 years of experience
• OR Bachelor's degree in a technical or mechanical field and 25 years of experience
• OR 30 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years of instructional design/development experience, familiar with DoD training requirements and have a minimum of 1 year DoD experience

Technical Skills:

• Ability to apply ISD methodologies (including ADDIE) to develop training curricula, conduct needs analysis, formulate training outlines, build course objectives, design assessments, and convert raw technical content into clear, effective instructional materials
• Skill in designing, developing, and validating SCORM-compliant digital learning products, including interactive modules, simulations, self-paced lessons, and multimedia instructional content for Learning Management Systems
• Capability to evaluate training effectiveness through metrics, learner feedback, assessments, and data reviews; apply findings to revise or recommend improvements to instructional methods, media, learning objectives, and delivery approaches
• Proficiency in uploading, configuring, organizing, and maintaining e-learning content within LMS platforms to ensure proper functionality, learner accessibility, version control, and training delivery performance
• Experience creating and utilizing training aids such as handbooks, demos, multimedia visual assets, computer-based tutorials, and reference materials using modern authoring tools and interactive media formats
