Test Engineer

Mid-Level | 3-5+ Years Experience | $100,000-$140,000 | Westminster, CO | Active Secret Clearance Required

Build and validate mission-critical systems by turning complex requirements into repeatable, automated test solutions. Whether your strength is RF testing or software/firmware validation, you'll play a hands-on role in test development, execution, automation, and data analysis.
A Day in the Life - What You'll Do

• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, scripts, and automated test sequences for RF, software, and firmware systems.
• Use MATLAB and/or Python to automate testing, process data, generate waveforms, and analyze test results.
• Configure and operate RF test equipment, develop automated equipment control, and support direct RF testing of complex systems.
• Develop software test tools and surrogate modules, support interface testing, process post-test data, and assist with messaging, ICD, interoperability, and cybersecurity testing.
• Document requirements validation, test results, discrepancies, and technical findings while collaborating with engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• 3-5+ years of relevant Test Engineering experience.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience with test planning, test execution, requirements validation, and test reporting.
• Experience with MATLAB and/or Python for test automation and data processing.
• Experience developing test scripts and automated test solutions.
• Ability to analyze and process test data.
• Experience in at least one of the two primary focus areas:
  • RF Testing
  • Software/Firmware Testing and Test Support
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

RF Testing Qualifications

• Direct RF test experience; Radar and/or Electronic Warfare experience preferred.
• Experience with RF test equipment including Signal Generators and Spectrum Analyzers.
• Experience with Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, SDRs, or similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of RF components, analog RF test setups, configuration, and RF link budgets.
• Experience with programmatic control of RF test equipment, typically using SCPI commands.
• Experience with automated processing of raw IQ data.
• Experience with custom RF waveform generation.
• Experience developing RF test scripts and automation.
• Experience developing and executing tests for requirements validation.

Software/Firmware Testing & Test Support Qualifications

• MATLAB and/or Python experience for test automation and data processing.
• C++, Java, and/or Python programming experience.
• Experience developing software test surrogate modules for interface testing.
• Experience writing code for automated test equipment setup, device-under-test (DUT) control, and test sequencing.
• Experience with post-test data processing and processing automation.
• Experience developing GUIs for test interfaces, automation, and/or data processing.
• Experience with lightweight databases such as SQLite, MS Access, or similar for test point tracking and test data management.
• Experience with Cameo from an interface and minor-update perspective; this is not an MBSE-focused role.
• Ability to support software-centric testing involving messaging, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), interoperability, cybersecurity, and related interfaces.
• RF testing experience is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with both RF testing and software/firmware testing.
• Radar and/or Electronic Warfare testing experience.
• Proficiency in both MATLAB and Python.
• Experience with automated RF data processing and IQ data.
• Experience with SDRs and custom waveform generation.
• Experience integrating automated test equipment and software-based test environments.
• Experience supporting complex defense or mission systems.
• Experience with RF and software interfaces, messaging, ICDs, interoperability, and cybersecurity testing.
