Job Description
Position Title: Engineering Technician II
Location: Newport, RI
Clearance required: SECRET
Scope of Work: Provides mid-level technician support for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network, telephone, and Media Center infrastructure and cabling plant.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Install, terminate, test, and maintain copper and fiber optic cabling plant, including inter-building fiber
- Perform remedial and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of infrastructure components
- Install or modify network, Media Center, and telephone configurations
- Update and maintain maintenance records and documentation
- Minimum education, years of experience, and skills in accordance with the NUWCDIVNPT labor category description for this position and level.
- Mid-level infrastructure installation, testing, and maintenance skills
- Personnel supporting the classified and unclassified network infrastructure must hold the certifications required to support the systems in accordance with SECNAV M-5239.2
