Job Description/Summary:

The Building People is hiring an Onsite Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance operations at a large multi-building facility complex in Fort Worth, Texas. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will directly supervise a team of skilled trades staff responsible for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, grounds, and general building maintenance. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on keeping a busy facility running safely and smoothly every day.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Directly supervise onsite maintenance staff performing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, grounds, and general building maintenance work.
  • Ensure work orders, preventive maintenance, and service requests are completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
  • Support quality control inspections and partner with the Project Manager to resolve issues quickly.
  • Coordinate with customer facility representatives to keep them informed of maintenance activity and respond to their needs.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the facility's emergency procedures and participate in emergency response and drills as needed.
  • Ensure your team stays current on required training, certifications, and safety practices.
  • Track maintenance activity and work orders using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).


Required Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of recent experience directing operations and maintenance of a facility or asset in a supervisory capacity, ideally for a facility of similar size and complexity to a large commercial or institutional campus.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of building trades such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians and tradespeople.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customer representatives.
  • Ability to pass a background/security screening and obtain facility access credentials as required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supervising trades staff on federal or large commercial facilities.
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems and CMMS/NCMMS work order platforms.
  • Formal training or certifications in a relevant trade.
