About the Role
Blue Rose Consulting Group is seeking a qualified Adult Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) to provide non-medical counseling and support services to active duty service members, their families, and the military community at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana.
This role supports the Department of Defense Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program and focuses on providing short-term, solution-focused support to service members, spouses, and adult family members navigating the unique challenges associated with military life.
The MFLC will work directly within the military community while collaborating with installation leadership, military Points of Contact (POCs), and community resources to support resilience, well-being, and program objectives.
This position requires U.S. citizenship, an active and unrestricted independent clinical license, and successful completion of all required federal background investigations, suitability requirements, and installation access requirements.

The successful Adult MFLC will build trusted relationships within the military community while providing approachable, confidential, and effective non-medical support.
Success in this role means helping service members and their families navigate the everyday challenges of military life, delivering effective resilience and wellness education, maintaining strong relationships with installation personnel, and consistently operating within the appropriate scope, confidentiality requirements, and professional boundaries of the MFLC program.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, approachable, culturally aware, and comfortable working directly within a military installation while responding to the changing needs of service members and their families.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide short-term, solution-focused, non-medical counseling to service members, spouses, and adult family members.
- Support individuals experiencing challenges related to deployment, reintegration, relocation, relationships, parenting, work-life balance, stress management, grief and loss, resilience, and other life transitions.
- Conduct briefings, psychoeducational workshops, outreach activities, and other presentations designed to promote resilience and overall well-being within the military community.
- Collaborate with installation leadership, military Points of Contact (POCs), and community resources to support program objectives.
- Maintain confidential documentation in accordance with Department of Defense and contract requirements.
- Respond professionally to the unique needs of military personnel and their families while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and ethical standards.
- Maintain compliance with applicable program, installation, and contractual requirements.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted, independent clinical license in any U.S. state or territory, such as LCSW, LICSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, LMFT, or Psychologist.
- Understanding of military culture and experience working with service members, military families, veterans, or other military-connected populations.
- Strong assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with military leadership and installation personnel.
- Ability to successfully complete all required federal background investigations, suitability requirements, and installation access requirements.
- Previous Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) experience.
- Prior military service or experience working within the Department of Defense.
- Experience providing brief, solution-focused counseling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
