Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field. Equivalent non-U.S. qualifications directly relevant to the position will also be considered.
5+ years of relevant professional engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience).
Hands-on engineering experience involving aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, autonomous platforms, or other advanced aerospace vehicles.
Strong proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
Experience developing Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) algorithms, models, and simulations.
Programming experience using C, C++, Python, or C#.
An active Tier 5 (T5) security clearance, formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.
10+ years of relevant technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Experience supporting spacecraft operations, space-environment effects, or hypersonic re-entry GN&C systems.
Knowledge of state estimation and sensor fusion, including techniques such as Kalman filtering, as well as GPS/INS and air data systems.
Strong understanding of classical and modern control theory, including nonlinear control design.
Experience with model-based development and providing engineering support for flight testing.
Previous experience working on space or hypersonic aerospace programs.
Ability to work effectively in complex, broadly defined engineering environments, make sound technical decisions with limited direction, and communicate technical concepts and results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
