Software / Systems Architect Technical Specialist

Responsibilities

The Software/Systems Architect will support the Sponsor and work with a product owner in defining system requirements and mission value increments (MVIs) for multiple services provided to external stakeholders. This requires interacting with mission partners, portfolio owners, customer account managers, and business analysts to elicit, understand, and document MVIs for the system.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Document, analyze, and review software requirements for a larger software development team responsible for the development, testing, and installation of the system.
• Interact with multiple stakeholders to assess and understand the requirements to ensure that user stories are consistent and applicable across all services.
• Manage and verify requirements, capturing detailed descriptions of user needs and service functionality.
• Analyze and study complex system requirements.
• Analyze functional business applications for functional activities.
• Perform requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications, as required.
• Work as part of an agile team, utilizing Kanban and Scrum best practices.
• Maintain Jira dashboards to help manage customer meetings.
• Analyze Jira contents across teams.

Qualifications

• Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
• A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline
• BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
• Demonstrated knowledge of solutions to complex application problems
• Ability to analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and to review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations
• Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, data stewardship principles, data architecture principles, data standards, and metadata management best practices.
• Experience with successful full-lifecycle software development projects.
• Ability to translate requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that involve multiple interfaces and supporting data repositories. For example, this may include experience with Web Services, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), application integration technologies and approaches, Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing solutions, data management technologies (Extract-Transform-Load (ETL), Data Profiling, Data Mining, and Metadata Repositories).

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in a field related to the position.
• 15 years of experience.
• 3 years of experience in the Intelligence Community.
• Demonstrated knowledge to solutions to complex applications problems.
• Ability to analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
• Demonstrated knowledge in enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, data stewardship principles, data architecture principles, data standards, and metadata management best practices.
• Experience with successful full life-cycle software development projects.
• Analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for various projects.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
