Electrical Engineer - Position Description

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting the PMS 300 Program Office in Mobile, AL. Working closely with government stakeholders, shipyards, naval architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will support requirements development, systems integration, configuration management, and technical analyses involving HM&E systems, C4I capabilities, and mission equipment. Position/Job Description:

General Tasking Description:

• Support development, design, integration, and production level engineering of ship design products in accordance with a Government System Specification and ABS requirements.
• Provide expertise in electrical design for integrated plant designs, including medium voltage AC, electrical propulsion, and pulsed loads in accordance with ABS and IEEE 45 standards.
• Support detailed development of one-line diagrams, protection feature analyses, analyses for arc flash, subtransients, and system harmonics, as well as switchboard and breaker design, power management, and safety and control features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize hull weights into the overall ship design.
• Analyze operational requirements and develop technical solutions supporting mission needs.
• Develop and review engineering documentation, technical reports, and system specifications.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, program offices, shipyards, and technical teams.
• Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and system assessments.

· Take part in the evaluation and improvement of shipbuilding processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

Experience Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience supporting DoD, Navy, or federal government programs.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and technical documentation development.
• Experience supporting acquisition, sustainment, modernization, or integration efforts for military systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with US Navy systems.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to perform job duties.
• Experience supporting Commercial Ship Building programs, Military Sealift Command Shipbuilding programs, or Coast Guard ship building programs
• Experience supporting shipyards.
• Experience with CAD software programs.
• Previous detailed design experience.
• Experience in the actual conduct and development of a failure mode effect analysis (FMEA), including requirements for the ABS DPS and R2 notations.
• Experience supporting shipyards.

Educational & Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Naval Architecture, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline is preferred but can be waved with 10 Years of experience.
