Chief of Staff - Position Description

We are seeking a talented Chief of Staff to join our team supporting the PMS 300 Program Office in Washington, DC. Working closely with government stakeholders, shipyards, naval architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will support requirements development, systems integration, configuration management, and technical analyses involving HM&E systems, C4I capabilities, and mission equipment. Position/Job Description:

General Tasking Description:

• Act as an advisor to the Ship Design Manager, coordinating staff actions, priorities, schedules, and decision support across design, engineering, programmatic, logistics, test, and stakeholder functions.
• Track major risks, issues, dependencies, and action items for detailed design & construction activities
• Enable technical, program, contracting, and/or command authorities effective alignment by maintaining situational awareness, resolving routine coordination gaps, and escalating matters requiring leadership decision
• Analyze operational requirements and support the integrated team to develop solutions supporting mission needs.
• Review engineering and program documentation, technical reports, and system specifications.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, program offices, shipyards, and technical teams by leveraging organizational and communication skills.
• Lead meetings, reviews, and technical exchanges as needed with senior leadership.
• Take part in the evaluation and improvement of shipbuilding processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

Experience Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience supporting DoD, Navy, or federal government programs.
• Experience supporting acquisition, sustainment, modernization, or integration efforts for military systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with US Navy systems and DoD 5000 principles.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to perform job duties.
• Experience supporting Commercial Ship Building programs, Military Sealift Command Shipbuilding programs, or Coast Guard ship building programs
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and technical documentation development.
• Experience supporting shipyards.

Educational & Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Naval Architecture, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
