Auxiliary Systems Engineer - Position Description

We are seeking a talented Auxiliary Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the PMS 300 Program Office in Mobile, AL. Working alongside government stakeholders, shipyards, naval architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will contribute to HM&E system development and lifecycle support efforts involving HVAC, propulsion, electrical, cooling, potable water, wastewater, and deck systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support high-visibility Navy shipbuilding and modernization programs while helping enhance fleet readiness, mission effectiveness, and warfighter capability.

Position/Job Description:

In this role, you will support the design, integration, construction, modernization, and delivery of critical shipboard auxiliary systems for U.S. Navy surface vessels.

General Tasking Description:

• Support various engineering and technical activities throughout the design and construction processes of surface vessels and shipboard equipment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems, Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) systems, and mission equipment.
• Analyze operational requirements and develop technical solutions supporting mission needs.
• Support detailed design, integration, shipyard construction, and delivery of auxiliary systems to include HVAC, liquid cooling, potable and wastewater, electrical, propulsion, and deck systems.
• Conduct requirements analysis, interface management, and configuration management activities.
• Develop and review engineering documentation, technical reports, and system specifications.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, program offices, shipyards, and technical teams.
• Support Naval Architecture and HM&E systems initiatives as applicable.
• Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and system assessments.
• Take part in the evaluation and improvement of shipbuilding processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

Experience Requirements:

• Experience with auxiliary systems integration.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and technical documentation development.
• Experience supporting acquisition, sustainment, modernization, or integration efforts for military systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with US Navy systems.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to perform job duties.
• Experience supporting NAVSEA programs and/or shipyards.
• Experience with CAD software programs.
• Previous detailed design execution.

Educational & Certification Requirements:
