Position Title: Engineering Technician I

Location: Newport, RI

Clearance required: SECRET

Scope of Work: Provides technician support for cabling, equipment, and preventive and remedial maintenance across network, Media Center, and telephone systems.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Install, terminate, repair, test, and maintain Ethernet, copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling 


• Perform remedial and preventive maintenance of devices, facilities, and components 


• Mark equipment, cables, and jacks with appropriate classification labels 


• Support installation and relocation of network, Media Center, and telephone equipment 

• Minimum education, years of experience, and skills in accordance with the NUWCDIVNPT labor category description for this position and level. 


• Cabling installation, termination, testing, and maintenance skills 


• Personnel supporting the classified and unclassified network infrastructure must hold the certifications required to support the systems in accordance with SECNAV M-5239.2
