Program Cybersecurity Systems Engineer Senior

York is seeking a Program Cybersecurity Systems Engineer who is ready to help protect the nation's most advanced space systems. In this role, you will shape and integrate cybersecurity requirements across multiple spacecraft programs, lead penetration testing activities, and strengthen mission-critical systems against evolving cyber threats. You will work at the intersection of cybersecurity, systems engineering, and national security to help ensure our spacecraft remain resilient in contested environments.

As a Program Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, you will architect secure system designs, drive threat-informed analysis, and apply cybersecurity engineering best practices throughout the system accreditation lifecycle. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to safeguard critical space assets, influence system-level security decisions, and advance York's mission of delivering secure and reliable spacecraft for government partners.

This role is fully on site, with work performed at both our Greenwood Village, Colorado office and an offsite facility in Aurora, Colorado.

Responsibilities

• A&A Support:
  • Provide cybersecurity focused systems engineering analysis and documentation in support of Assessment and Authorization activities.
• Risk Identification:
  • Identify critical system risks, evaluate potential reverse engineering threats, and propose effective countermeasures.
• Pen Test Execution:
  • Conduct penetration testing, analyze findings, and prepare clear, actionable reports for leadership and program stakeholders.
• Test Plan Management:
  • Review, refine, and maintain cybersecurity test plans and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable security and accreditation requirements.
• Compliance Verification:
  • Verify cybersecurity compliance at both component and system levels, including functional and integration testing.
• Threat Assessment:
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to perform system level threat assessments, define mitigation strategies, and derive and allocate security requirements across hardware and software elements.
• Architecture Integration:
  • Apply cybersecurity overlays and controls into system architectures and evaluate resulting design impacts.
• C&A Support:
  • Support Certification and Accreditation activities throughout the program lifecycle.
• Crypto Engineering:
  • Contribute to cryptographic system security engineering tasks and ensure secure integration into system designs.
• Technical Engagement:
  • Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and working groups to ensure system level cybersecurity resiliency and compliance.

This role will not have direct reports.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, engineering, computer science, or a related STEM discipline.
• Three or more years of experience in Information Assurance or Cybersecurity.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leaders and customers.
• Active or in progress cybersecurity certifications including CEH and CompTIA PenTest+.
• United States Citizenship.
• Active TS SCI clearance.
• Willingness to work full time on site between the Greenwood Village, CO and Aurora CO facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting space programs.

• Certifications for OSCP and CISSP from ISC2.
• Background in spacecraft systems engineering, architecture, or design.
• Experience with cryptographic systems and their integration into secure system architectures.
