Job Description
Our client, a defense contractor supporting the U.S. Navy, is seeking a Senior Data Analysis Engineer for a full-time position supporting programs at Naval Air Station Point Mugu in Point Mugu, CA.
This individual will support the analysis and evaluation of ground laboratory and open-air flight test data for complex avionics, electronic warfare, radar, and sensor systems. The role will be responsible for processing and correlating large volumes of flight-test and telemetry data, developing automated Python-based analysis tools, evaluating system performance against technical requirements, and presenting findings to Flight Test Engineers, Test Directors, program leadership, and acquisition stakeholders.

The expected salary range for this role is $145,000 to $160,000 annually.
The posted range is an estimate; the actual compensation offer will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications and will be aligned with internal equity.

Required Skills:
- 10+ years of relevant engineering, flight test, data analysis, or related technical experience
- Professional experience analyzing flight test, test range, or laboratory experimental data
- Strong Python development and scripting experience for data processing, automation, and analysis
- Experience using Python data analysis libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, and/or Matplotlib
- Experience processing, synchronizing, and analyzing large, multi-source or time-series datasets
- Direct experience working with Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) and correlating truth data against aircraft or system data
- Experience decoding, parsing, and analyzing avionics data buses and telemetry, such as MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, or similar technologies
- Experience analyzing system performance in threat simulation or simulated emitter environments
- Strong understanding of avionics architectures, radar, RF, sensors, signal processing, telemetry, and/or test range instrumentation
- Experience comparing test results against system requirements, design specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and performance requirements
- Experience developing technical reports, test documentation, analysis results, and executive-level technical presentations
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline with 14+ years of relevant experience
- U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Skills:
- Experience analyzing Radar Warning Receivers (RWR), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), or Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
- Experience performing performance analysis on radar systems, including AESA, Pulse Doppler, and/or Synthetic Aperture Radar
- Experience with IRIG 106 Chapter 10/11 flight-test data standards
- Experience with high-density RF threat-generation platforms
- Experience supporting Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL), Installed System Test Facility (ISTF), or open-air flight test environments
- Git or similar software configuration/version-control experience
