Tactical Networks Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

The Tactical Networks Systems Engineer serves as the central technical coordinator for Fielded Systems Reliability & Sustainment. This Subject Matter Expert (SME) acts as the primary focal point for all Frontier AI requests regarding critical naval network components, specifically CANES (Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services), ADNS (Automated Digital Network System), and ACS (Agile Core Services) for Ships and Submarines.

The selected individual will coordinate planning, risk management, cost analysis, and complex scheduling with multiple dependencies related to hardware and software procurements for end-of-life/end-of-support (EOL/EOS) components on ADNS and CANES. This role requires cross-functional coordination with Logistics, Contracts, Engineering, Primary Vendors, and Cyber Security teams to develop and deliver technical artifacts including Plans of Action and Milestones, Phased Technical Refresh Plans, Accelerated Patching Plans, Resource Plans, network and system diagrams, and Bills of Materials for Windows and Linux-based systems.

Candidate must be able to work with efficiency, speed, and attention to detail on daily unclassified and classified requests and must possess and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Candidate must understand DoN Cyber Security functions relating to patches, valid remediations, upgrades, continuous monitoring, and system dependencies across ADNS, CANES, and ACS.

Candidate must have at least three years' experience supporting CANES and/or ADNS hardware and software lifecycle management, including EOL/EOS assessment and technical refresh planning on UNIX, Linux (RHEL), Solaris, and Intel platforms.

The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for all sustainment requests related to CANES, ADNS, and ACS across Ships and Submarines
• Receive, triage, and respond to daily unclassified and classified tasking with attention to detail and required timelines
• Develop and maintain Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for hardware and software obsolescence remediation
• Build and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for technical refresh and EOL/EOS component replacement
• Create and manage complex project schedules in Microsoft Project, tracking multi-dependency procurement and installation timelines
• Draft Phased Technical Refresh Plans and Accelerated Patching Plans for government review and approval
• Coordinate with Logistics, Contracts, Engineering, Primary Vendors, and Cyber Security to ensure deliverables meet program requirements
• Develop and maintain network and system diagrams reflecting current and planned baseline configurations
• Compile Resource Plans identifying personnel, funding, and material requirements for sustainment activities
• Validate proposed remediations, patches, and upgrades against DoN Cyber Security compliance requirements and system dependencies
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings and coordination efforts to resolve scheduling conflicts and procurement dependencies
• Review and quality-check draft and finalized deliverables prior to submission

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of experience OR Associate's Degree + 8 years of experience OR High School Diploma + 11 years of experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel
• Experience with CANES, ADNS, and ACS systems
• Must possess and maintain CompTIA Security+ CE
• Must be proficient in software development including security, scripting, and automation
• Must be proficient in system sustainment processes including cyber security remediation, patch management, and lifecycle planning for EOL/EOS hardware and software components.
• Must maintain certifications relevant to system sustainment and cyber security to include CompTIA Security+ CE, PMP, CCNA, ITIL, and/or Microsoft certified training in Windows Server administration.
• Active Secret Security Clearance

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
