The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to Director Submarine Program directorates and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Director Submarine Program unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program, the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), and the AUKUS Integration and Acquisition Office, to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Director Submarine Program will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC

SPA is seeking an outgoing, detail oriented, self-starter to provide support to an office within Director, Submarine Programs (DSP). A "Day in the Life" for this position will vary greatly, but this position will provide direct program management support to DSP and lead elements of the SPA team supporting the new organization. This work may include technical research, development of mitigation plans, technical writing, and action officer efforts. Also, one can expect to brief senior leaders on program progress, being able to translate complex technical problems into executive-ready briefs. Travel to vendor sites for meetings and reviews is possible. It is expected that the amount of independence in this position will quickly grow as the employee becomes acclimated to our customer and product sets.
This position is located at SPA facilities with frequent/daily trips to the client site at Washington Navy Yard.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical or a related field
- 5+ years in engineering or technical program analysis experience
- Experience working with the Navy, either operationally or as part of a staff
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Proficient in using SharePoint and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to analyze and represent data and communicate to decision makers
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a technical or a related field
- Recent experience working in Team Submarine
- Experience with program metrics, Advana, and applying them to Navy processes
- Experience with and knowledgeable of the Navy administrative processes and flag level staffing
Clearance:
- Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance
