Job Description
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Oracle DBA to provide expert-level database administration support across enterprise Oracle environments . This position will be located in Washington, D.C. and will be a remote position.

This role ensures optimal performance, availability, security, and reliability of mission-critical Oracle systems. The Senior Oracle DBA will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across Oracle technologies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
The Senior Oracle DBA provides expert-level database administration support across enterprise Oracle environments. This role ensures optimal performance, availability, security, and reliability of mission-critical Oracle systems. The Senior Oracle DBA will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across Oracle technologies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect, install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, including Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Oracle RAC, ASM, and standalone Oracle instances.
- Implement and manage Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies.
- Develop and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Oversee HA/DR environments such as Oracle Data Guard and other replication technologies.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, patching cycles, and performance tuning.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database issues across production and non-production environments.
- Participate in capacity planning, data modeling, and application support to ensure optimal integration.
- Ensure security compliance, access control, auditing, and configuration hardening.
- Collaborate across development, infrastructure, and operations teams; provide mentorship to junior DBAs.
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation, operational runbooks, and status reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's with 8 years in Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments. (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
- Expertise across SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle RMAN, Oracle Grid, Oracle RAC, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain standalone and clustered Oracle systems.
- Strong experience with scripting: Bash, PowerShell, SQL scripting.
- Demonstrated success implementing HA and DR capabilities.
- Effective communicator able to work independently and collaboratively.
Clearance Required: Must be able to attain and maintain a GPO Public Trust
Preferred Certifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- Oracle Certified Master (OCM)
