Job Description
Junior Quality Assurance Analyst
Location: Washington, DC – potentially up to 5 days onsite
Clearance: Public Trust
Key Responsibilities:
Test software solutions to verify functionality, performance, and accuracy, ensuring they are free from defects.
Review and validate software and data outputs, including documentation, for completeness and correctness.
Execute test cases, log defects, and maintain QA records such as test evidence, defect logs, and validation notes.
Identify issues and collaborate with developers, analysts, and project teams to support timely resolution.
Communicate testing status, risks, and concerns to project leadership as needed.
Support continuous improvement of QA processes by suggesting refinements to workflows and templates.
Assist in interpreting requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to validate expected system behavior.
Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational quality standards and client expectations.
Required Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, or a related technical field.
Basic understanding of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC), defect tracking, and validation methods.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to follow established QA processes and accurately execute test plans and test cases.
Clear written communication skills for documenting issues and collaborating with project teams.
Ability to read and understand functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Basic understanding of software development lifecycles (Waterfall/Agile), defect tracking, and validation methods.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with test management tools, defect tracking systems, or basic automation frameworks.
Foundational understanding of data validation, system integration testing, and regression testing.
Exposure to Agile or iterative delivery environments.
Introductory knowledge of API or UI automation tools or simple scripting (optional for growth).
Basic SQL skills or comfort validating backend data or APIs.
Education:
Associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics).
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Public Trust clearance is required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
