As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Wingbrace, you will be:
This is an opportunity for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer who is highly motivated, innovative, and self-directed. This position provides challenging opportunities to apply and expand one’s Quality Assurance engineering experience, and analytical skills.
This opportunity will be client facing, and collaborative with a lot of growth. You will present to the highest levels of the division and be asked your opinion. You will work with an experienced team who will mentor, coach, and share best practices.
Day to Day responsibilities
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will have the opportunity to leverage and grow your quality assurance expertise by:
• Supporting the selection and utilize tools and testing methodologies to ensure that software tests identify defects, fail to meet requirements and comply with company quality standards
• Evaluating test results against expected results, implementing improvements to the testing and release process and recommending alternative testing as needed
• Ensuring that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
• Developing and using functional, operational and regression test plans
• Testing the integration/demonstration of HW/SW (e.g., COTS, GOTS, and GFE) for assessment against the initiatives’ technical requirements
• Drafting, revising, and approving test plans and scripts
Skills/Education/Certification
Required Qualifications
• Active Secret US DoD clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher, as required by the position.
• Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, computer science, or other technical discipline.
• Three or more years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test automation, software development, or a related technical role.
• Experience developing and executing manual and automated software testing processes.
• Experience developing test plans, test cases, test procedures, and regression test strategies based on software requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated regression test suites.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or equivalent.
• Experience with one or more automated testing frameworks or tools, such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, pytest, JUnit, or equivalent.
• Experience testing APIs, services, and/or integrations in addition to user interfaces.
• Ability to analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, identify defects, and distinguish application defects from test, data, or environment issues.
• Understanding of software development and delivery processes, including source control, build processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into effective test strategies and provide traceability between requirements and verification activities.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Referenceable project-based experience working collaboratively with software developers, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic environment and take ownership of quality outcomes.
Nice to Have
• Experience designing or extending automated test frameworks across multiple applications.
• Experience integrating automated regression testing into CI/CD pipelines and using automated tests as part of a software release quality gate.
• Experience with performance, load, security, or other non-functional testing.
• Experience testing systems involving COTS, GOTS, GFE, hardware/software integration, or distributed systems.
• Experience with test management, defect tracking, and reporting tools.
• Experience establishing or improving software quality processes and standards within a development organization.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Salary
The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
