Journeyman NetOps Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a Journeyman NetOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in network operations, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure management. This role requires a strong understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure and systems
• Investigate and resolve network outages and performance issues
• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless operations
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in network operations or related IT role
• Experience with network monitoring tools and protocols (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

Clearance Requirement:
This position requires an active Secret clearance.
