About this position:

iWorks is seeking Security Support Specialists at both the Junior and Mid-Level experience tiers to support personnel security operations and security program administration. This position provides critical support for security clearance management, visitor access processing, security records maintenance, onboarding and out-processing activities, security briefings, and coordination of personnel security actions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and experience supporting personnel security programs in a government or national security environment. These roles support customer missions by ensuring security requirements are properly executed and documented.

*This position is contingent upon contract award.

Salary Range: 61k-87k - commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.

Available Locations & Levels:


  • Junior Security Support Specialist - Fort Belvoir, VA



  • Mid-Level Security Support Specialist - Fort Belvoir, VA or Indian Head, MD



Candidates will be considered for the position that best aligns with their qualifications, experience, and location preference.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:


  1. Maintain personnel security records and databases.

  2. Process security-related requests, documentation, and correspondence.

  3. Track and manage personnel security actions and case status information.

  4. Coordinate onboarding, out-processing, and security briefing activities.

  5. Support visitor access and authorization processes.

  6. Assist with security compliance and records management efforts.

  7. Respond to security inquiries and provide customer support.

  8. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other security-related documentation.

  9. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of security actions.

  10. Support process improvement initiatives and security program operations.

  11. Ensure activities are completed in accordance with established security policies and procedures.





Required Education/Qualifications:


  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility and current CI Polygraph required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Intelligence Studies, or a related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience supporting personnel security, physical security, security administration, clearance processing, or related security functions.

  • Experience maintaining records, tracking actions, and coordinating administrative processes.

  • Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.





Preferred Qualifications:


  • 8+ years of personnel security or security program support experience.

  • Experience supporting federal government or Department of Defense security programs.

  • Experience using personnel security and clearance management systems.

  • Knowledge of personnel security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience training or mentoring junior staff.

  • Prior experience supporting SCIF, visitor control, or access management activities.
